Mankind in Wolfbane exists precariously, at the mercy of the "Pyramids" who have torn Earth away from its sun. Human society is dying: ruled by hunger, slavish conformity to tradition and hysterical fear of those few people who dare to break the conventions. But one man still fights – a fugitive escaped from execution, a dead man with a living super-brain... a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Wolfbane, newly revised for this edition by Frederik Pohl, is dazzlingly inventive and even its most fantastic stretches of imagination remain hideously plausible.

FREDERIK POHL is one of the great names of science fiction, active in the field as writer and editor since 1940 and the author of numerous novels and short stories. C.M. KORNBLUTH was the bureau chief in a Chicago news agency until 1951, when he took up fiction writing full time. He died in 1958 at the age of 36. Pohl and Kornbluth started writing short stories together in 1940 and their collaborations include the renowned Space Merchants, Search the Sky and Gladiator-at-Law. Frederik Pohl lives in Chicago.
