With his blood-oxygen reading hovering near the danger mark disaster threatened Sam's weird adventure.

Eagle Scout Bruce Hollifield from Earth is spending two weeks at Luna City before going on via space ship to a new home on Venus. To qualify for Eagle on the Moon, Bruce goes on the difficult two-man hike with Sam, a Moon Scout. Wearing pressure suits they ski over a Luna plain covered with dry, powdery stuff and then descend a sheer cliff by rappelling. Sam's rope comes loose, letting him fall a sickening distance into the debris below.
