Publisher's Blurb – Lower Cover
It is the 1970s, and Europe is still under Turkish rule. In Byzantium, England, young Dan Beauchamp is getting ready to sail to the Americas to win gold and glory fighting for one of the Aztec princes.

Excitement and danger are with him every step of the way and he is befriended by the North American Indians, in particular by the magician Quequex. Quequex talks to Dan of the Gate of Worlds, of what history might have been like if only one event were changed . . .

A strange and compelling alternative history from a master storyteller of science fiction.
